Football Chapel is where I have an opportunity to bring God's word to the players. It is a time of teaching and preparing the men spiritually to go on the field and do the best that they can. That day also brings opportunities to have one to one prayer as well as team prayer time. I have found this to be and instrumental time to bring awareness to the fact that God plays a part in their lives and in sports.
CDG (Christian Discussion Group) is our weekly meeting that gives us an opportunity to explore God's word in depth. These meetings are held in the off season and have spawned great discussions on very hot topics. The men have an opportunity to share openly and to reflect on what does it mean to put the Lord first in their lives.
Spirit Lifter Ministries, in partnership with Athletes in Action Canada, seeks to glorify God through the area of sports. We aim to lift up and strengthen College and University athletes in the Ottawa Region by engaging them in the Christian faith. We encourage athletes to think critically about their identity and place within the world of sport. Through the integration of faith, life, and sport we believe each person can experience a victory beyond competition.
Mentorship/Discipleship is where we seek a one to one meeting with individuals who have either made a commitment to Christ or seeking a deeper walk. This is a great opportunity to get to know the men better and to build into their lives. This time also creates an opportunity to explore issues that may not be okay to share in a group setting.
